Defiant in its stagecraft and experimentation, this Chicago-based theatre company set the tone for ambitious and provocative productions from 1993 to 2004. Founded by a group of students from the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign, it won the battle for originality using controversy, perversity and impressive stage choreography. Defiant Theatre pushed the boundaries and surprised audiences, and we remember its legacy on Chicago Theatre with this tee.
