The Oriental Pharmacy lunch counter was a neighborhood institution. People from all walks of life gathered there for nourishment and camaraderie. One could sit next to a business type or a street person, and this was part of the attraction to the lunch counter. It was a people watcher's place that served food, conversation and a sense of togetherness. The lunch menu design, captured on the Oriental Pharmacy Tea House vintage t shirt, was the artifact that started meal-time rituals.
