Riegelman's Downer Pharmacy, remembered with the Riegelman's Downer Pharmacy Vintage Hoodie, was a staple of Milwaukee's East Side in the 1960s and 70s. Located across from the University of Wisconsin-Milwaukee, it had, “Everything for the student.” It offered burgers and malts at the soda fountain, music albums, fantastic candy, sundries, and of course prescriptions. Students of all ages could relax at Riegelman's, and it was a bastion of Downer Avenue vitality for the counter culture.
