“BEER--- BOOZE --- CHARBROILED SANDWICHES --- BEST IN ENTERTAINMENT” Someplace Else, owned by Jerry Cohen, was the go-to watering hole in Downtown Milwaukee after work in the 1970s and 80s. It was one of the first taverns as part of the downtown scene to have an open grill and live music, and its terrific food, quick service, friendly staff, and clientele made it a favorite for dinner and lunch. Cohen gutted the original building on 634 North Water Street leaving the original brick walls, ceilings, and light fixtures which gave it a distinct and inviting character. We honor the tavern, with the Someplace Else Tavern Vintage Hoodie, which showcases its iconic signage.
