When Wisconsin had over 100,000 registered bowlers, and Milwaukee was the epicenter of bowling in the U.S., many Milwaukeeans bowled at Petroff's. Petroff's on Burleigh, remembered with the Petroff's vintage t shirt, was a reflection of the diverse Sherman Park neighborhood with its customers being a mixture of old and young, black and white. The Petroff's in Sherman Park had a unique setup with the bowling alley on the second floor, and a diner below that resembled the now famous one in Pulp Fiction. Started by John and Patricia Petroff, Petroff's is now long gone like many other bowling centers, but it remains a lasting memory of growing up in the 1970s and 80s in Milwaukee.
